The stay

Two Swiss glamps and a bell tent.

Three ways to stay on the same quiet ridge at 4,500 feet — or take the whole of it for yourself.

Where you’ll sleep

Three tents, and that’s the lot.

Same ridge, same hot water, same kitchen. What changes is how you sleep, which way you face and how tucked away you are.

Bell Tent

Sleeps 3, up to 5 on extra mattresses · Among the trees · Private bathroom

A round canvas tent in the quieter corner of the ridge, among the trees. You sleep low, on deep floor mattresses with rugs underfoot — more camp than cabin, which is exactly why some people ask for it. The bathroom is a few steps outside the tent and private to it, with the same hot water. It has the most floor space of the three, so it takes extra mattresses best — five fits, though four is more comfortable.

  • Deep floor mattresses for three
  • Extra mattresses, up to five
  • Private bathroom a few lit steps away
  • Hot water, towels, essentials
  • Heater and extra blankets
  • Electric kettle, tea and coffee

Getting here

There are two roads. Take the one through Bhimtal.

We’d rather tell you now than have you find out at dusk. The other approach is narrow, unlit and all hairpins. The Bhimtal road is fine in any car — and very good on two wheels.

Before you ask

The tents, honestly answered.

Which tent should we choose?

The Swiss Glamps suit two, or three with an extra bed: a double bed, a desk, an attached bathroom and a deck facing straight down the valley. The Bell Tent suits three to five who don’t mind sleeping low on deep mattresses, tucked among the trees. Seven or more, or anyone wanting the ridge to themselves, take the Whole Camp.

Is the bathroom private?

Always. The Swiss Glamps have an attached bathroom; the Bell Tent’s is a few lit steps outside and used by nobody else. Hot water, towels and the essentials in every one. No shared blocks.

Will we be warm enough?

Yes. Every tent has a heater, and there are extra blankets in the colder months. Nights are properly cold in winter, so pack layers and a warm hat; the fire is lit every evening.

Is there Wi-Fi and power?

Yes, with power backup, so a cut doesn’t end your call. It’s hill Wi-Fi: ask for today’s speed test before you book. The Swiss Glamps have a proper desk.

How many people fit in each tent?

A Swiss Glamp sleeps two, or three with an extra bed. The Bell Tent sleeps three, up to five on extra mattresses. The Whole Camp sleeps seven, up to eleven with extra beds. Count everyone aged six and over; under-sixes stay free, and extra guests from six are ₹650 a night.

Can the dog stay in the tent?

Yes, in yours, for free and with no size limit. Bring a bed or a blanket they know.

Can we cook our own food?

Yes. There’s a shared kitchen alongside ours, and camping gear if you’d like it. Or leave it to our kitchen: breakfast is ₹350 a head, a day, and dinner is on request.

What time is check-in?

Check in from 1pm, check out by 11am. Arriving late is fine if you tell us; someone will wait up. Try not to drive the last stretch after dark.

How far is the lake?

A short drive, not a walk: about 10 km to Bhimtal Lake, 25 minutes. What’s right outside the tent is the valley and the forest.

How do I confirm a booking?

Send your dates on WhatsApp. A 50% advance confirms the booking, and the reply comes from a person, usually within the hour.
