Before you book
Cancellations, and the other small print.
Written to be read, not to be hidden behind. If anything here seems unfair, say so and we’ll talk about it.
Cancellations
Cancel early and you lose nothing.
We’re three tents. One cancelled booking is a third of a weekend, which is why the notice period matters more here than it would at a hotel. A 50% advance confirms a booking. Everything below counts back from your check-in date.
A single tent
Swiss Glamp or Bell Tent
The whole camp, or peak nights
Christmas, New Year & festival dates
Why the longer window? A whole-camp booking on a peak weekend is the only booking we take for those nights. At six days’ notice there is no realistic chance of filling it again.
The fair bit
When it isn’t your fault.
If the road is closed
Landslide, snow, or an official closure on the route up — full credit, valid twelve months, however late you tell us. We’d rather you turned back than tried it.
If we cancel on you
Full refund within five working days, and we’ll ring round the places we know and try to find you somewhere for the same nights.
If you cut a stay short
Nights you’ve already started aren’t refundable. Tell us before the morning you leave and we’ll refund half of the nights you haven’t used.
If you want to move the dates
One free move, more than seven days out, subject to the new dates being free. After that it counts as a cancellation.
If someone in your group drops out
Tell us and we’ll reprice the booking. If it means fewer extra beds or a smaller tent, you pay the smaller number.
How refunds come back
Same way you paid, within five to seven working days. If it takes longer than that, chase us — something has gone wrong at our end.
Retreats & small groups
Booking the whole ridge for a group.
Retreats, offsites and gatherings book as the Whole Camp, so nobody else is on the ridge.
Size
Seven guests with no extra bedding, up to eleven with it. Count everyone aged six and over.
Confirming
A 50% advance confirms the booking.
Cancelling
Full refund of the advance up to 14 days before arrival. If the road is officially closed, full credit for twelve months, however late you tell us.
Food and extras
Breakfast is ₹350 a head, a day; group dinners on request. Tell us what the retreat needs, a teacher’s space, a quiet morning, and we’ll say honestly what the ridge can do.
Invoices
We can’t issue GST invoices yet. You get a written booking confirmation and a receipt for every payment. Questions from a finance team: dugdugcamps@gmail.com.
House rules
The same as everyone’s: quiet after 10pm, smoking away from the canvas, dogs welcome.
House rules
Six things worth knowing.
Check in and out
Check in from 1pm, check out by 11am. Arriving late is fine if you tell us — someone will wait up. Arriving unannounced after dark is not a good idea on that road.
Dogs
Welcome, free, and no size limit. Tell us you’re bringing one so we don’t put a nervous guest in the next tent. They sleep in your tent, not ours.
Children
Very welcome. Under-sixes stay free; from six up it’s ₹650 a night as an extra guest. It’s a hillside with no fences, so they’ll need watching.
Quiet hours
After 10pm the ridge goes quiet. Music off, voices down. Three tents means the people next door are genuinely next door.
Alcohol
Bring your own, drink it by the fire. We don’t sell it and we don’t mind it. We do mind it at midnight at volume.
Smoking
Outside only, and never anywhere near the canvas or the pine. In dry months we’ll ask you to use the fire pit area and nowhere else.
Still not sure?
Ask before you book.
If you’re unsure whether the dates will hold or whether the place suits you, message first. We’d rather answer honestly than take a booking you end up cancelling.
