Glamping near Bhimtal
Near the lakes. Not on them.
Three glamping tents on a ridge above Jangalia Gaon, about 10 km from Bhimtal Lake. Close enough for a day at the lakes. Quiet enough that you won’t want one.
What glamping means here
Canvas outside. Comfort inside.
The word gets used for everything from a tarpaulin to a resort. Here’s what it means on our ridge.
Somewhere proper to sleep
A double bed in each Swiss Glamp; deep floor mattresses in the Bell Tent. Solid floors, never a groundsheet.
Your own bathroom
Hot water, towels and nobody else using it. Attached in the Swiss Glamps, a few lit steps from the Bell Tent.
Warm at night
Heaters, extra blankets in the cold months, and a fire every evening.
Pahadi food
Breakfast ₹350 a head, dinner on request, cooked in our kitchen with what the village grows. See the menu.
Only three tents
So it’s never busy. On a long weekend, that’s the whole point.
Built with the village
Local hands built it, and the walks are led by people from Jangalia Gaon.
Around the lakes
Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal, Nainital.
Bhimtal Lake is about 25 minutes away by car. Naukuchiatal and Nainital make easy day trips. Kathgodam station is 40 km, about an hour and a half.
What’s outside your tent instead is the valley, the pines and a sky with nothing in it. Most guests plan a lake day and don’t take it.

Asked before booking
The honest answers.
How far is DugDug from Bhimtal Lake?
About 10 km, around 25 minutes by car. The camp is on a ridge above Jangalia Gaon, not on the lakefront.
Is it camping or a hotel?
Somewhere between. Canvas tents on solid floors, proper bedding, a private bathroom per tent and hot water. If you’d rather rough it, we have camping gear too.
Can we visit Naukuchiatal and Nainital from here?
Yes, as day trips by car. Most guests plan one and end up staying on the ridge. Both are there if you want them.
Is it good for families?
Yes. Under-sixes stay free. It’s a hillside with no fences, so small children need watching.
When is the best time to come?
March to June and September to November for clear air. Monsoon and winter have their own reasons.
Other ways to come
Same ridge, different reasons.
